Free online classified advertising and online auctions for individuals and local businesses wanting to target Indianapolis, Indiana and the surrounding counties.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Over the last couple of years we've watched participation and interest grow for "garage sale" and "for sale by owner" groups on social media and national listing sites. And we were hooked. But as much as we appreciate and use those sites ourselves, we wanted a better way. We wanted a local gathering place that focuses on buyers and sellers without the clutter. But we still embrace social media too.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Most "Indianapolis" area online classifieds are national sites with a portal in every major city. They look like "indianapolis.freeclassads.com" or "plainfield.freeclassads.com". They let anyone post or respond to ads with little or no verification...and no way to track if something goes wrong. As a result, their categories are full of irrelevant, spammy listings in which your items get lost in the clutter. And when it's time for the buyer & seller to meet for the exchange, both hope they won't be robbed or scammed. We do things differently, on purpose, to increase safety and discourage the rifraff.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One website. We plan to focus solely on the Indianapolis area.
